About Amelia Pantazon

I’m Amelia Pantazon, a fashion designer with a Bachelor’s in Textiles and Fashion Design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I love helping people express themselves through clothing, whether it’s giving styling advice or creating pieces that feel truly personal. My passion lies in bridal redesign, especially working with heirloom dresses. I love the idea of honoring the legacy of a garment while transforming it into something new and uniquely yours. I’m also fascinated by upcycled fashion and secondhand textiles, finding creative ways to problem-solve through design while making the most of existing materials.

Ruth Davis Design Gallery Exhibition

As a member of the student team curating an exhibition of student work in textiles and fashion design, I was responsible for designing the floor layout of the gallery. My role was crucial in ensuring that each designer's work received optimal placement for their installation. In addition to my curation duties, I also contributed to the exhibition by showcasing my own installation. This project provided an opportunity to collaborate with peers and showcase our collective talent and creativity to a wider audience.

Assistant Bridal Seamstress Internship

As an assistant bridal seamstress, my jobs included keeping the studio clean, interacting with clients, handling phone calls, assisting head seamstress in fitting, hand sewing, machine sewing, and serging. I worked closely with the head seamstress as she mentored me and taught me tricks of the trade.

The Issue X Runway of Dreams Fashion Show

The Issue, a UW-Madison magazine, put on a fashion show in collaboration with Runway of Dreams, a foundation that empowers people with disabilities to have confidence and self-expression through fashion and beauty inclusion. The fashion show included student designs and aspiring student models. I showcased three looks in the runway show, along with putting together the background for my models.
